Milwaukee, WI March 9, 2011:
The Diamond Posse, a veteran outreach program has partnered with NEADS and their Canines for Combat Veterans Program. NEADS is a nonprofit program that trains service dogs for disabled veterans and others in need. Diamond Posse will officially launch their fundraising efforts to provide a veteran in need with a service dog on March 31st at Arizona Bike Week. The Diamond Posse will introduce this year’s celebrity rider, Sturgis Hall of Fame member Betsy "Gypsy" Lister. They will have a booth set up to meet, greet and spread awareness for our cause. These women have deep heart felt gratitude for veterans who have made it possible for them to celebrate their freedom due to the veteran’s sacrifice. In 2010 they rode every day of National Armed Forces Week to honor our veterans and hope to share with everyone their passion for riding and supporting those who have served the United States of America. The public is invited to stop by to say hello to these women, check out their bikes, and learn more about the Diamond Posse and NEADS.
Our website, www.DiamondPosse.us will be updated with events that the Diamond Posse members are attending and will allow you to watch the progression of this year’s goal of $20,000. Meeting that goal will provide a dog to a veteran at no charge. You will be able to watch the dog’s progress, help us name the dog and provide encouragement to the trainer and veteran through our blog.
Women are invited to join the Diamond Posse as they ride from Milwaukee, WI, Park City, UT, Dallas, TX and Boston, MA headed for Gail’s Harley-Davidson in Kansas City to join their 9-11 Tribute Rally. The women will arrive in 4 separate waves on Saturday Sept 10th with each group saying thank you for their privilege to ride free. The riders will sign up via our website to join our mission as the Diamond Posse Crew.
The Diamond Posse is a non-profit veteran outreach program that consists of Vicki "Spitfire" Sanfelipo, "Diva" Amy Skaling, and Cat Hammes RN, their "One Legged Blonde". The Diamond Posse was formed in 2010 to honor veterans by giving hope and encouragement to veterans who are facing challenges as a result of their service to the United States of America.
